Hello, and welcome to this blog post! I’m Anagha, the creator of Ana Health Avenue(the website you’re currently on), and today, I’m telling you why a fresh start could be just what you need to improve your mental health!

First of all, what is a fresh start?
Google defines a fresh start as “an opportunity to start without prejudice”.
Another way I like to call it is a fresh start! Sometimes, you need to build a new foundation instead of trying to build off of an existing one.
For example, when you’re building a house; if your house is fundamentally broken, then the best thing to do would be to take a sledgehammer to the entire thing and start from scratch.
So now, compare your life to the house, and let’s see if you might need to pick up that sledgehammer(figuratively of course)! 🙂
Now, let’s talk about why a fresh start could improve your mental health!
Sometimes, starting from scratch is the best option
Trust me, this is the biggest piece of advice I could give you! Sometimes, you just need to deconstruct your belief system and start from scratch so you can truly improve your mental health!
It could put some distance between you and toxicity
Toxicity is THE WORST!
And a lot of times, toxic people could hinder your fresh start. People can get caught up in this cycle of toxicity, and this post is to help you escape it!
By having a fresh start, you can finally put your past behind you, and look to a brighter future!
What are examples of “fresh starts”?
A fresh start could mean something different for everyone, because really: it’s specific to YOUR unique situation!
Below, I’ve listed some examples:
- moving to a new city
- quitting your job to pursue a new passion
- taking on a new side hustle(like starting a blog)
- cutting out toxic people in your life
- do something you haven’t done before
- experiment with your appearance(like dying your hair)
- go back to school
- make new friends
- do a LOT of personal development work!
Personally, my fresh start this year consisted of items 3, 4, 5, 6 and 9! The most significant one(and the one you’ve probably already noticed) was taking on a new side hustle: starting a blog!

This year has been tough for all of us, however some more than others.
