Looking for the best skincare tips for glowing skin? Then this is the place for you.
Do you struggle with dull and uneven skin? Over the past couple of years, the skincare world has become amazed by the idea of glowing skin, with people even building entire skincare brands because of it (looking at you Hailey Bieber).
And while it may seem like the only way to achieve glowy skin is to buy a million and one products, I’m here to tell you that’s simply not the case. In this blog post, I share my best skincare tips for glowing skin that will help you balance your skin from the inside and out!
After this post, you’ll be ready to get the glowy skin of your dreams!
Best Skincare Tips For Glowing Skin:
1. Hydration Hydration Hydration
This tip, while the most obvious, is also one of the most important ones. Your skin needs to be moisturized at least in the morning and night to keep it happy and healthy. Your skin type, however, will determine what level of hydration it needs.
For example, I have oilier skin and live in a humid climate. So while I do moisturize twice a day, I prefer a lightweight moisturizer. Depending on the type of climate you live in, you should choose a moisturizer that you love and would consistently use!
2. Protect Your Skin Barrier
This is an under looked aspect of having glowing skin but is so so important! Without a healthy skin barrier, your skin will appear dry, flaky and dull. To protect your skin barrier, a well balanced routine is a must (more on that in this post).
3. Don’t Use Stripping Products
Like I mentioned above, a well balanced routine is the key to having hydrated skin. One way you can start achieving this is by cutting out stripping products in your routine!
Excessive skincare products such as foaming cleansers and harsh exfoliants can make your skin the opposite of glowy. Therefore the best thing to do is avoid these types of products all together!
4. Do Use Glow Serums/Products
If you do want to give your skin a little topical supplement to add on the glow, then a glow product could be for you.
Look out for hydrating serums which won’t break you out or irritate your skin!
5. Drink Water & Eat Well
The most long-lasting things you can do for your skin is making sure to nourish your body. Eating a well balanced diet will ensure your body gets all the nutrients it needs, and drinking water helps to flush out all the toxins in your body. These things do reflect in your skin’s radiance and brightness!
6. Regularly Exfoliate
If you want to see real changes in your skin’s glowiness, I highly recommend exfoliating at least 2 times a week (if your skin can tolerate more, then I’d recommend exfoliating up to every other day).
Exfoliating helps to remove the layer of dead skin cells and reveal a newer, brighter layer of skin. While exfoliating is a long-term skincare process, it’s so worth it for the end results!
7. Use Treatment Products To Brighten SkinĀ
This final tip is super important if you want to brighten your skin and get rid of any hyperpigmentation you may have. Treatment products are a great way to actually change the way your skin looks. While skincare does not promise miracles, it can, however, promise consistent improvement over time.
Some of my favorite exfoliating ingredients include vitamin C, retinol, and tranexamic acid. Also, AHA and BHA acids are also amazing for getting rid of hyperpigmentation and acne scarring you may have. One of my personal favorites is the Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant. Formulated with BHA and salicylic acid, this product helps to smooth and even out skin tone, giving skin a brighter appearance.
