Want to learn about the easiest fall makeup tutorial? This is the ultimate fall makeup look guide that everyone should know about.
As you probably know, the fall season is coming soon. If you’re an avid makeup lover like me, you’re probably researching all the best makeup trends and ideas out there. As a makeup aficionado myself, I’m sharing with you the simplest fall makeup tutorial that I swear by.
You are going to learn everything you need to know in this makeup tutorial, from how to apply your foundation, to the perfect fall makeup eye look, and more.
After reading this simple makeup tutorial, you will be prepared to look so cute for the upcoming fall season.
This post is about the fall makeup tutorial that every makeup lover should know about.
Simple Makeup Tutorial:
1. Apply A Pore Blurring Primer To Your Entire Face
This is one of the best things you could do to ensure your makeup looks flawless all day long. I know that many people skip over primer (myself included), but I’ve noticed that whenever someone does that extra step, their makeup lasts so much longer.
One of the best sets of primers in the game are the Benefit Cosmetics primers. Whether you want to blur your pores, hydrate your skin, or instantly get that glow, these primers don’t play around.
2. Apply A Natural Foundation/CC Cream
That’s right: cake face makeup is officially out. No one wants to wear a full face of foundation ever again after the year we’ve all had.
PRO TIP: if you don’t want to throw away your favorite full coverage foundation, I got you. Take a small amount(smaller than you usually take), and apply it to your face. A good foundation will sheer out and will look like you’re wearing no base makeup at all!
3. Be Sure To Powder Your T-Zone
For those of you who struggle with oiliness(I feel you), this step is for you. If you have oilier skin, I still recommend going in with a translucent powder. However, I strongly advise staying away from powder with any sort of pigment: these usually cause that cake face look.
How To Properly Apply Powder:
- grab a large, fluffy face brush: this will loosely distribute product
- tap it in your favorite translucent powder: Coty Airspun is a great option
- tap off the excess….this is essential!!!
- dust it on your T-Zone(forehead, nose, chin) and wherever else you get oily
4. Apply Your “Snatural” Contour
You’re probably wondering…what is “snatural”? This is a term coined by JLo’s makeup artist, Scott Barnes. It essentially means that you look naturally snatched.
Which is what we all want 🙂
For me personally, I’m really good at cheekbone and jawline contour but can improve at my forehead and nose contour 🙁
PRO TIP: do you want to create the illusion that your lips are fuller? Apply contour just outside the natural line of your lips. Then later in the look, you can apply your regular lip products!
5. Apply Your Blush Vigorously
Like I mentioned in my last blog post, I said that warm blush is really popular right now. But today I’m talking about how to apply your blush.
To look more alive in the colder months, I recommend applying blush to your cheekbones, the apples of your cheeks, and even the bridge of your nose!
6. Go Get That Glow!
As I mentioned in my fall trends/ideas post(check it out if you haven’t :)), your highlight is so important to your makeup look. I recommend a really beautiful warm toned highlight to complement your blush and contour.
You can find super shiny highlighters at the drugstore, but if you want to splurge a bit, I recommend the Fenty Beauty highlighter(trust me, Rihanna knows what she’s doing). 😉
Where To Apply Highlighter:
- cheekbones
- tip/bridge of the nose
- chin
7. Don’t Be Afraid Of Strong Brows
I know that the trend nowadays is natural, fluffy brows. And, don’t get me wrong, I LOVE that trend.
However…
For the fall season, I think that bold brows can really make a statement. But…there is a difference between bold and blocky. One is cute, and the other definitely is not.
PRO TIP: take your time when doing your brows. Make sure that you are mimicking your natural brow hairs with either powder, gel, or pomade.
8. Everyone Loves A Brown Smoky Eye
This is my personal spin on the classic smoky eye. For this fall makeup guide, I thought I’d include one of the most timeless, chic, and easy eye makeup looks I could give you.
How To Do A Brown Smoky Eye:
- cover your entire lid with a transition shade that matches the color of your eyelid
- start to define the crease with a camel brown color
- deepen the crease with a chocolate brown eyeshadow
- lighten up the inner corner and brow bone with a hit of shine
- tap some of that chocolate brown onto the outer portion of the lid
- place some gold glitter eyeshadow on the center of the lid
9. Try Out Fox Eye Liner
This is something I haven’t tried myself, but it looks so good! This eyeliner look can look great on anyone if you apply it well. You basically start from the middle of your lash line, then draw a straight line out to create that “fox eye” look.
PRO TIP: map out your eyeliner line using the dot system – place dots along your lash line then connect them to get a killer eyeliner look.
10. Time To Pull Out The False Lashes
Usually I don’t include false lashes in a makeup guide because truthfully? I don’t think they’re as essential as mascara.
However, if you’re going out on the town and you want to spice up your makeup look and make it look more glamourous, then I recommend using false lashes. When picking out a pair of false lashes, choose one that doesn’t swallow your eyes; you still want to see the eyeshadow!
11. Use A Matte Lipstick
This is an obvious step….when I think of matte lipstick, I think of the fall season. For a daytime matte lipstick, go with a pinky/nude color. For a nighttime matte lipstick, I absolutely love a deep burgundy or even brown!
PRO TIP: when wearing matte lipstick, be sure to exfoliate and moisturize your lips before and after – matte lipsticks can collect in the lines of your lips and they’re also super drying!
12. Setting Spray: One Of The Most Important Steps
Trust me, setting spray is a must especially if you have oily skin(hi, how’re you doing lol). The one I’ve shown above is the cult favorite Urban Decay All Nighter. If you have a long night ahead of you, what’s the point of working so hard for your killer makeup if it won’t even stay on.
Use setting spray!!! 🙂
13. BONUS: Revive Your Face With Ambient Powder
This is a bonus step that you totally don’t have to do. But it can truly take your makeup to the next step. Hourglass has a super boujie face powder set that blurs and smooths out your face.
Basically Facetune in a powder form ;)\
This can help soften your makeup while giving you a glow like no other!
