Looking for a natural makeup routine to feel your best? These are the 9 steps you need to have in your makeup routine for a natural makeup look.
If you like to wear makeup everyday, then having a solid natural makeup routine is a must. While you definitely don’t need to wear makeup everyday(you’re beautiful without it), makeup can help you feel more confident and put together. The power of makeup is not something to discount, and that’s why I’m writing this post.
In this blog post, I’m sharing the perfect natural makeup routine that takes less than ten minutes. From primer to powder, these are the 9 minimal steps that I think every natural makeup routine needs to have.

1. Primer
No matter what type of makeup routine you’re going for, makeup primer is an essential. A natural makeup look is more prone to fading due to the milder intensity of the products used. Therefore, having a primer underneath everything can make sure your makeup look stays the whole day.
I recommend a long lasting pore filling or blurring primer: this type of primer gives you that “I woke up like this” glow!

2. Concealer
You’re probably wondering why I skipped the foundation. A lot of people still use a tinted moisturizer or CC cream in a natural makeup routine. But in my opinion, you only need concealer for a natural makeup routine.
This step is mainly to spot correct any blemishes or dark spots you may have, not cake your entire face. So just use it on a need basis!

3. Powder
Whether it’s mattifying powder or blurring powder, this is an essential to your makeup routine. I actually recommend purchasing a powder with SPF in it so you don’t have to keep reapplying liquid sunscreen and ruin your makeup.
Plus it can help maintain the shine you gain throughout the day.
The perfect SPF powder(minus the applicator it comes with; I recommend keeping a makeup brush on you):
4. Blush
When applying products like concealer and powder, your face can lose its dimension and become very 2D. Therefore, blush is the perfect product to solve your problem. It adds life back to your face and gives a very pretty look.
A universally flattering and long lasting blush:
5. Highlight
Highlight is used to bring attention to prominent parts of your face like your cheekbones, cupid’s bow, brow bone, and the bridge/tip of your nose. A natural highlight can do wonders for a natural makeup routine, elevating it to another level.
The perfect everyday highlight that will elevate your makeup routine:
6. Brow Gel
Natural makeup does not mean sucky brows. To keep the natural vibe going, I don’t recommend incorporating brow pigment into your everyday makeup routine. It’ll look really weird if you have intense brows and a lowkey base.
That’s why I recommend just sticking to a brow gel that will define and shape your brows without adding color to them.
An amazing brow gel that won’t break the bank:
7. Mascara
I feel like mascara is a staple in every makeup routine no matter what look you’re going for. A good mascara is able to lift, curl, and lengthen your lashes for a volumized look.
As you can see I haven’t mentioned anything about eyeshadow or eyeliner. These two makeup steps are more fitted for a glamourous daytime or nighttime look. If you want to incorporate them into your everyday routine, more power to you 🙂
But we all have a limited time in the morning, and I think that the mascara does an amazing job of making our eyes look more awake without looking like we put too much effort into looking this fabulous 😉

8. Lip Color Or Gloss
This is probably my favorite step in my makeup routine. I personally don’t like putting lip color on a daily basis, but if you want to, there are plenty of natural lipsticks/lip tints that give you that natural look.
My personal favorite is a colored lip gloss. A good lip gloss is hard to come by: it’s difficult to find that combination of lightweight and shiny that doesn’t feel messy on your lips.
However, there are glosses out there that are good(you just have to look). And it’s worth it for what a gloss brings to the table: sprinkles on top of your everyday makeup routine.
A gloss that everyone loves(and I know you will too):
9. Setting Spray
And last but definitely not least…setting spray!!! This step ensures the survival of your makeup throughout the day. Depending on what setting spray you buy, it’ll help mattify or make your makeup glowy!
