Follow a consistent sleep schedule
One of the most useful health tips I could give you is to have a consistent sleep schedule. While this might seem difficult, it’s a lot simpler than it sounds.
You want to be getting at least 7 hours of sleep no matter what age you are. I personally feel my best when I get a solid 8 hours of sleep.
Top Tips to Get Good Sleep:
- sleep at around the same time every night – this creates consistency!
- invest in a good bed set, including a good mattress and sheets set
- have a good night routine to get your body prepared for slumber

2. Be Active
Another one of my favorite health tips is so simple, it’s kinda crazy.
Be. Active.
Getting physical activity throughout the day increases your stamina and endurance, gets blood pumping, and is crucial for your long term health.
Ways You Can Be Active:
- yoga
- walking/jogging
- weights
- home workouts on YouTube
- getting a gym membership with a friend to keep each other accountable
3. Don’t Smoke
This is probably one of the most important health tips I could ever tell you. Smoking might seem great and all, but there are a lot of negatives that could affect your long term health.
As a young person, it can be hard to resist the pressure to “be cool” and smoke, but trust me, looking back you’ll be glad you didn’t smoke.
Side Effects of Smoking:
- causes cancer, heart disease, stroke, etc.
- causes serious lung issues
- can cause diabetes
4. Limit Alcohol Intake
Alcohol can be a very slippery slope. That’s why it’s best to limit the amount of alcohol you drink.
In my opinion, it’s all about having a healthy relationship with it.
What to Drink at Parties Instead of Alcohol:
- water
- juice
- soda
5. Have a Balanced Diet
And last but definitely not least, eating healthy! This health tips goes along with the one above, and it’s changed the game for me.
You want to overall have a healthy diet. That still leaves you room to enjoy life and have the foods you love(looking at you cheesecake) 🙂
Example of a Healthy Diet:
- Breakfast: avocado toast with orange juice
- Lunch: open sandwich with cheese and veggies
- Dinner: healthy pasta 🙂
And of course, be sure to be drinking 8 cups of water a day.
