Dear reader,
Here we are again. I’m writing this blog post one day before the actual birthday of my blog, and that’s because I’m actually moving to college tomorrow! I know right, time really does fly. Every single year when I write the birthday post, I always take it as an opportunity to reflect on the past year of my passion project. For the past four years, I’ve used The Anagha Edit as a creative outlet. Even when it was still named Ana Health Avenue (iykyk), I knew I could always count on my blog to give me a chance to share my true thoughts and feelings on things important to me, such as health, wellness, medicine, and beauty.
But to be honest, I’m starting to get tired. The only reason I’d write this here is because I’m absolutely positive no one is going to read this post. This blog hasn’t always received the commitment it deserved. But considering the big picture, I’ve given it a lot: four years of time, money, and hard work. While this is a hobby for me, I’ve always dreamed of it being something more. I would be eternally grateful to have a blog that I could actually have as a full-time business: my 14 year old self would be over the moon 🙂
I don’t know if it will ever happen though. Sometimes, I wonder if I should start a social media account or if I chose the wrong niche or if I started too late. Sometimes I wonder if it’s time to throw in the towel.
But then I think about my younger self who wanted to start a YouTube channel then decided to start a blog after her parents vetoed the YouTube career lol 😉 She would be devastated to know I gave up, and the thought of that makes me so sad.
So I think I’ll keep going. I’m hoping that the transition from high school to college is a relatively smooth one and the increased flexibility in schedule will allow me more time to actually pursue my blog. On average, I would work 5-10 hours a week on my blog for the past 4 years (now I want to bump it up to 15)!
I know the first part of this post was kinda depressing (my apologies for that), but I truly do want to end on a positive note. If you’re reading this, thank you. To everyone out there who has ever read or supported my blog, thank you.
My goals for this new year of blogging are to be consistent with content, enjoy the work, monetize, and actually gain viewership. I really hope I can do it.
And that’s that! Thanks again for reading and I cannot wait to see what this new year of blogging brings. I love you guys<3
Xx,
Anagha
