Is JLo Beauty really worth your coin?
By: Anagha S.
Hello guys, and welcome to today’s blog post! The latest skincare has just dropped…JLo Beauty! While it has already launched on the offical JLo Beauty website, it’s coming to Sephora on January 14, so I wanted to create this blog post before then to make sure you have the resources you need to make a well informed consumer decision!
Let’s get into it!

What is JLo Beauty?
JLo Beauty is Jenifer Lopez’s latest skincare brand. The actress/singer/icon is known for her youthful glow, known as the “JLo Glow”, and it seems that she’s playing on that to sell these products.
Cause, who doesn’t want to be glowy?!
But, now I’m going over each product offered to see if it’s ACTUALLY worth your hard earned dough.
That JLo Glow In A Multitasking Serum($118)
The first product showcased on the website is an anti-aging serum that supposedly hydrates and lifts your skin for a youthful glow. Right away from looking at the full ingredient(because ingredients don’t lie), I see squalane and niacinamide, as well as a whole bunch of olive ingredients.
One thing I like is how this brand is clean, which is basically a must these days. In their key ingredients, the first one listed is the JLo Beauty Olive Complex, which is a 4 part blend of squalane, fermented oil, extra virgin oil, and leaf extract.
I honestly don’t know why there is soooo much emphasis on olive oil; while it’s not a bad ingredient, it’s not an ingredient I would base my entire brand around, you know?
Second, THAT PRICE TAG! $118 dollars is a lot for a serum, and I can tell that this is definitely a luxury brand.
That Blockbluster In A NonStop Wonder Cream($58)
This cream is supposed to hydrate your skin and give it a star like glow. Key ingredients include the JLo Beauty Olive Complex, hyaluronic acid, and peptides. There’s also squalane, shea butter, cottonseed oil, and fruit extracts. This seems like a thicker cream, perhaps best suited for the night.
Is it pricy? Yes.
But is the ingredient list pretty good? Yes.
That Hit Single In A Gel Cream Cleanser($38)
$38 dollars for a cleanser….that’s a lot. Since a cleanser is a wash off product, usually you shouldn’t be spending THAT much money on it.
But, I do like how it’s a gel cleanser, which could help people with oily skin. It’s said to refine and brighten the skin, with ingredients like the Olive Complex and various extracts.
But, I think it’s still a bit much for my taste.
That Star Filter In An Instant Complexion Booster($39)
I was first confused about what this product was. But, after some research, it seems to be almost like an illuminator to give a glow to the skin. You can mix it with your foundation or moisturizer, and they offer 4 different shades presumably for different undertones.
I actually kinda like this product! It has mineral pigments and vitamin E.
So I kinda consider this a makeup/skincare product…and I’m not completely mad at the price tag!
That Fresh Take In A Fierce Eye Cream($48)
But, this one I’m mad at. $48 dollars for an eye cream, a product you don’t really need?!
Compared to all the other products, you get half the amount! While this does have peptides, I’m sorry to say I’m not a fan of this product!
That Big Screen In A Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Moisturizer($54)
If you’re new to Ana Health Avenue, you should know that I deeply believe that all good skincare routines must have sunscreen! If you want to learn more about sunscreen, read the blog post linked below!
RELATED: The Importance of SPF: Why is Sunscreen an Essential?
This sunscreen seems to be a blend of a physical and chemical sunscreen! While it’s not my favorite formula(or price tag), it’s not bad!
But, I do have to give props to JLo for releasing a sunscreen her first launch…oftentimes, the importance of SPF is seriously downplayed, and someone like JLo releasing a sunscreen, as well as 6 other products(that’s #goals), I’m actually impressed!
That Limitless Glow In A Multitasking Mask($48)
This does come with three masks, so I’m not completely mad at the price point. What I like about this is that it has two ear loops to fully secure it, and it’s infused with the anti aging serum.
With ingredients like Japanese sake rice ferment, I actually kinda like this product!
Soooo, do I recommend JLo Beauty?!
We are at the end of this review, and I’m going to give you my final thoughts about JLo Beauty! While I do think the ingredient lists are pretty good, and it was a VERY diverse launch, I think the price tags are WAY too high(and I still don’t get the emphasis on olive oil)!
That being said, there are two products I’m thinking about digging into more: the That Star Filter and the That Limitless Glow…those are the two products that really seemed unique to me!
The End
And, I’m done! Thank you so much for reading, and I hope I helped you decide if JLo Beauty is right for you(let me know in the comments below)!
