What do you mean by “healthier lifestyle”?
When you think about health, you probably think about physical health. But I’m here to tell you that in 2020, physical is definitely not the only type of health out there. Mental health, emotional health, and spiritual health have been making waves for some time now, and for good reason.
In this post, I’m going to talk about tips to lead an overall healthier lifestyle. If you’re interested in this type of content and never want to miss a post, then subscribe to Ana Health Avenue!
Get more sleep!
I know, I know, you think because everyone says this, it’s probably just hyped up, but by getting even 1-2 hours more of sleep could improve your overall mood, state of your skin, and make sure you’re rested for a fun, productive day! All of us have spent time scrolling on Instagram instead of getting sleep, but adults should be getting at least 7 hours of sleep, and kids even more.
Trust me, by sleeping more, the overall quality of your life will improve.
BONUS TIP: Cut out screen time at least an hour before your bedtime: it’ll be easier to fall asleep, and improve your mental health!
Practice some self-care.
Here at Ana Health Avenue, we love anything and everything related to self-care. In fact, I love self-care so much, I recently wrote a post about it!
Self-care is all about taking the time to take care of yourself, thus validating you and your needs, while maintaining your physical and mental health. Examples of self-care include skincare, makeup, and spending time with people you enjoy being around.
Self-care is taking time to take care of YOU and trust me, you deserve it!

Maintain(or start) a skincare routine!
Even though I stated skincare as a form of self-care above, I think that it’s so important that it deserves its own section! Nowadays, there are so many affordable, clean skincare brands that there’s honestly almost no reason that you can’t start a skincare routine today for under 15 dollars!
Taking care of your skin is not just a physical thing, but also a mental thing. Our self-confidence is greatly related to our physical appearance, thus taking the time to take care of your skin is truly a monumental part of living a healthier lifestyle.

Have a healthy diet in place.
Now this is a no brainer. Whatever you put in your body directly affects your physical, mental, and emotional health.
By being selective about what you eat, you can maintain a healthy immune system, while also enabling the potential to have a good day! Junk food, for example, can make people feel really sick, but if you eat healthier alternatives, your life will improve!
Veggie, fruit, dairy, and protein-rich diets are the best towards feeling like your best self!
Make sure to get some exercise!
Now, I’m not just saying this to stuff this post with useless information. (That’s not what Ana Health Avenue is about)
But, the reason behind me recommending this tip has tons of scientific data backing it. To give you the short version, basically when you exercise or get some form of physical activity, your body releases endorphins, which is a bodily chemical that can make feel people happier!
Also, many people I’ve met have said that exercise gives them mental clarity, as well as exercise is just good for you!
Spend time with people you love!
Self- qurantine has made us all longing for some more quality time with our friends and family, but it’s actually harder than you think to pick up your cell and make a phone call to your bestie.
But, it’s definitely worth it.
By keeping in touch with your friends, you can ward off feelings of anxiety and depression, especially if you’re an extrovert. And, if you’re thinking about why your friend hasn’t called you either, chances are, they’re probably feeling the same thing as you.
Sometimes, the hardest thing you can do is take the first step, but from there, it’ll get easier and easier!

Cut out toxicity in your life.
In the section above, I said that spending time with people you love can improve your mental health. Spending time with toxic people can do the opposite.
I know it can be hard to cut out toxicity in your life, but you don’t owe anything to anyone, and with that mantra, you can successfully cut out all traces of toxicity in your life for the sake of your mental health.
Just try to do it in the least stressful way possible, so that way you don’t stress yourself out!
Do daily affirmations!
We’ve all seen people do their daily affirmations, and you must be wondering, “What’s the point?”.
I’m here to tell you exactly that. For people who don’t get complimented that often, or people who internally motivate themselves, doing daily affirmations can help them with their confidence. I recommend doing daily affirmations before you put on makeup or get dressed for the outside world.
Telling yourself that you love yourself in your most raw, unfiltered form can significantly improve your life!
Summary.
